Lawrence Hossanah was born in London, but lived in Hastings in the 1980’s when his family moved to Queens, New York.  Lawrence was transported to the epicentre and birth place of hip-hop and dabbled in all the elements before discovering his love for painting rooftops and the moniker Myse was born. Recognisable to everyone around one of the most respected hip-hop boroughs - Queens - which at that time was also home to Run DMC, Salt’n’Pepa & MC Shan.  At a time when a lot of New York lay in ruins, nobody much bothered the artist as he went about putting paint on neglected walls.  Lawrence presents his “States of Matter” Series with the gallery - precise strokes and individual movements that come together to create a whole.
